Terms and Conditions / Enrollment Policy

Welcome to De Lane Of Beauty! We are excited to have you join our community. Before you get started, please carefully read through our Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). By enrolling in our programs, using our services, or accessing our website at https://delaneofbeauty.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Enrollment & Eligibility

1.1 Eligibility Requirements

To enroll in our Beauty School programs, students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (or have signed consent from a parent or legal guardian if between 16–17 years old).
  • Provide valid government-issued photo identification (e.g., Driver’s License, Passport).
  • Provide proof of high school diploma, GED, or equivalent (where required for state licensing programs).
  • Complete all necessary registration forms and pay the required deposit or tuition fees.

1.2 Accuracy of Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. Providing false or misleading information may result in immediate dismissal without refund.

2. Programs, Curriculum, and Schedule

2.1 Class Schedules & Attendance

  • Students must adhere to the designated schedule provided upon enrollment.
  • Attendance is strictly monitored. Unexcused absences, chronic tardiness, or leaving early may result in disciplinary action, loss of hours required for state licensure, or removal from the program.
  • Make-up hours/classes are subject to instructor availability and may incur an additional fee per hour.

2.2 Curriculum Changes

We reserve the right to modify the curriculum, course materials, class schedules, or instructors at any time to improve the quality of education, comply with industry standards, or adjust to state board requirements.

2.3 Working Hours & Operations

Our facility operates during the following hours:

  • Tuesday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Sunday & Monday: Closed

3. Tuition, Fees, and Payment Terms

3.1 Tuition Fees

Tuition and fee structures for each program are outlined at the time of enrollment. Total fees may include registration fees, tuition, student kit fees, textbook charges, and state board prep fees.

3.2 Payment Options

Payments must be made according to the agreed-upon payment schedule (e.g., paid in full prior to start date, or structured monthly installments). Accepted payment methods include cash, credit/debit card, electronic bank transfer, and approved financing options.

3.3 Late Payments & Fees

  • Payments not received by the due date will incur a late fee per week/month until paid in full.
  • Failure to keep account balances current may result in temporary suspension from attending classes until payments are updated.

4. Student Kits & Equipment

4.1 Kit Ownership & Care

  • Student kits/tools provided as part of tuition become student property upon full payment of kit fees.
  • Students are responsible for maintaining, sanitizing, and securing their tools. De Lane Of Beauty is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings or student kits.

4.2 Professional Standards

Students must bring required kits and tools to every class session. Failure to bring tools may result in being sent home and marked as an unexcused absence.

5. Code of Conduct & Student Expectations

5.1 Dress Code & Hygiene

  • Professional attire/uniform (e.g., solid black scrubs) is required daily.
  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Personal hygiene, neat hair, and clean nails must meet professional beauty standards.

5.2 Professional Conduct

Students are expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, respect, and ethics. Prohibited behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Disrespectful language, bullying, harassment, or discrimination toward staff, fellow students, or clients.
  • Use or possession of drugs or alcohol on school grounds.
  • Theft, property damage, or unauthorized use of school equipment/facilities.
  • Use of cell phones during instructional/hands-on clinical practice (unless permitted by instructor).

5.3 Disciplinary Actions

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in written warnings, suspension, or immediate termination from the program without refund.

6. Cancellation, Withdrawal, and Refund Policy

6.1 Cancellation Before Course Start

  • If a student cancels enrollment prior to the start date, tuition paid (minus the non-refundable registration fee) will be refunded according to the enrollment agreement.

6.2 Withdrawal After Course Start

  • Refunds for students who withdraw or are dismissed after classes begin will be calculated based on the percentage of course hours completed as specified in our Refund Schedule.
  • Student kits, textbooks, and registration fees are non-refundable once opened or used.

6.3 Program Cancellation by School

If De Lane Of Beauty cancels a program prior to the start date, students will receive a 100% refund of all fees paid.

7. Hands-On Practice & Client Services (Salon Clinic)

7.1 Supervised Practice

As part of training, students will perform services on live models/clients under instructor supervision.

7.2 Client Satisfaction & Safety

Students must follow all safety, sanitation, and state board regulations while servicing clients. Tips/gratuities from clients are subject to school policies.

8. Photo, Video, and Media Release

By enrolling, students grant De Lane Of Beauty permission to photograph/videotape them during class, events, or clinical practice for promotional, educational, or marketing purposes (including website, social media, and advertising) without financial compensation.

9. Intellectual Property

All course materials, workbooks, video tutorials, brand assets, and educational content provided are the intellectual property of De Lane Of Beauty. Unauthorized copying, distribution, or sharing is strictly prohibited.

10. Health & Safety / Sanitation

  • Students must adhere to local health standards, OSHA regulations, and State Board infection control guidelines.
  • Students experiencing contagious illnesses must notify administration immediately and remain home until cleared.

11. Limitation of Liability

De Lane Of Beauty, its staff, and affiliates are not liable for any personal injury, allergic reaction, property damage, or loss suffered by students or clients during training sessions, except in cases of proven gross negligence.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Louisiana. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or binding arbitration in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana.
